CLEVELAND – August 25, 2014 - Aitheras Aviation Group has established an air medical operation based at Island Air at the Owen Roberts International Airport on Grand Cayman. Aitheras, the country’s first air medical provider, will provide services to Health Services Authority and Health City Cayman Islands.

Aitheras has positioned a Cessna Citation Ultra V jet on Grand Cayman dedicated to providing air medical services 24 hours per day, seven days per week. In addition, a backup Citation is being stationed in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. The company has partnered with Cayman Air Medical Services, which is owned by Dr. Steve Tomlinson, to provide Critical Care Transport personnel for all air medical transports.

Mark Scotland, a director of Aitheras Aviation Group, Cayman Islands, has been instrumental in bringing Aitheras to the island. “By having a plane based on Grand Cayman, Aitheras will significantly improve the response time for air ambulance services. We are also glad to be working with Cayman Air Medical Services to use local personnel for the medical transport.”
