On Saturday, Aug. 30, Aitheras Aviation Group hosted a Casino Royale event to help support the Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA). 100% of the proceeds went to COTA to support children and young adults who need life-saving transplants. The successful evening, hosted at Burke Lakefront Airport, featured casino games, dancing, aerial silk performers, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. The High Roller Package, which included an aerial sightseeing tour of downtown Cleveland, will take place on September 13th.
COTA is a national 501(c)3 charity, based in Bloomington, Indiana, that is dedicated to organizing and guiding communities in raising funds for transplant-related expenses. Since its inception in 1986, COTA's mission has been that no child or young adult is denied a transplant or excluded from a transplant waiting list due to lack of funds. 100% of all funds raised in honor of transplant patients are used for transplant-related expenses.
The attendees, in their best 007 attire, heard from George Katsikas, President and CEO of Aitheras; Doug Lippert, COTA Director of Development; and Sarah McMicken from Chagrin Falls, Ohio. Sarah’s son Charlie, now almost six years old, had a heart transplant when he was two and a half after living in the Cleveland Clinic for 11 months. Sarah spoke on behalf of COTA and what it meant to her family.
