“There’s a real family feeling here at Aitheras. I’ve never worked somewhere where so many people are willing to step up and do whatever is needed to help get things done as a team to help create the unparalleled Aitheras experience for our passengers. That feeling of commitment extends to the medical teams we fly. Together, we work as one team interacting together in the best interests of the patient.”
Jamie flew in an airplane for the first time at age five, and that’s all it took; he was hooked. Since that time, there is nothing else that Jamie ever wanted to be more than a pilot. By age 16 he had flown his first solo flight and, upon graduation from high school, flew his father’s plane down to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University to officially begin his aviation studies.
His career in aviation has taken several turns before joining Aitheras. Through the years, he has served as a flight instructor and has piloted everything from freight planes for UPS to corporate jets and has even spent some time flying passenger planes around Jamaica. It was in 2010 that he joined Aitheras as its chief pilot logging, to date, more than 10,000 flight hours.
In his capacity, Jamie oversees all pilot training, hiring and scheduling, ensuring that the crews have the knowledge and experience, as well as the rest, they need to perform their duties to the highest standards in the industry. As an active pilot, Jamie can also be seen on many Aitheras flights in the captain’s seat safely transporting critically ill patients or business executives to their destinations.
